Here's the update. School is right around the corner and I need something to do with my hair for a while.Weaves are cool but I don't like that the hair shed and gets all over the bathroom floor. I took down my weave and my new growth has grown an inch. It's extremely curly and trying to comb it without detangler is the worst. So if you don't have any detangler the best thing to do is to comb it while the conditioner is in your hair. Speaking of conditioner that's you should mostly use since shampoo can strip your hair of moister. if you decided to use shampoo anyway you should use shampoo that does not contain alcohol Let me make this very clear KEEP ALCOHOL AWAY FROM YOU HAIR!!! I know most people with relaxed hair really don't look at the label to see what's in the products they put in your hair but natural people you really need to. Right now I'm using Pantene for natural &relaxed hair. I figured it would work since my hair is part natural and part relaxed but I'll have to use it longer to see if it really works.
For school I will be getting yarn braids or genie locs which are braids made out of yarn (yes real yarn). They look like dreads and I think dreads are gorgeous. I think it's a great style for people who like dreads but who never actually want to get them or just want to see if you look right in dreads before you get them. I'll be getting them tomorrow.
Here's an example of what they're suppose to look like. I'll check in later with the results.

What Would You Do???
My first random question may be a little touchy but it's something that I have always asked myself and I would life to know what others would do in the same situation. First let me start off by saying that being a mother to me is the greatest, hardest, most honorable job a woman could ever do in this world. It takes a lot to carry someone made of you inside of your womb. Once you have the child you have the job of caring for the child, and loving it, and raising it the best way that you know how and I salute the many women around the world that are playing the roles of both mother and father..I also will take this time to salute the fathers who are more than just "sperm donors" but are real dedicated fathers.
Ok, so with that being said here comes the real deal. If something as tragic as being rapped occurred and you conceived a child what would you do with the unexpected child? I have seen many movies and read many stories to know that many of the victims would abort the baby as soon as they found out the news. These women are emotionally scarred by the situation and only look as the fetus which slowly grows within their stomachs as a painful reminder.
It is more than understandable that encounter is hurtful and sad but I ask is it the child's fault under the circumstances of which they where conceived. Sure the situation of the pregnancy is defiantly not ideal but is it worth giving up a life? Children are a gift from god but does change under these circumstances.
I always told myself that if it ever happened to me that I would keep the child and raise it the best way that I could but we all know that things are easier said that done. In my opinion we shouldn't punish the unborn child for something that an evil, careless man did but that's just my opinion. What do you all think? If you have already been through similar situation or just want to share an opinion don't be afraid to leave a comment...Be Blessed :-)

Why Natural???
Everyone has their own reasons for doing their hair this way and that. Many kids get perms because their parents make them and many people get weaves because they want longer hair. Why am I going natural? My hair was super curly when I was a baby perms destroyed that. Around 6th grade I had breakage in the middle of my hair..Horrible,long on both side but short in the middle (funny how a couple years later people started cutting their hair like that on purpose).
In 8th grade I was told the bad news that I had to get a hair cut because the breakage was so bad. Now, as you know many black women aren't to happy about hair cuts (not back then anyway). Our hair doesn't grow fast so every inch counts. I cried my eyes out and moved on to sew ins. If you don't know sew ins are hair that are sew into braided cornrows onto your hair. The sew in thing sucked for a while. Just image being in the 8th grade and being the only one with a weave. Maybe I should have been a little more confident but it was odd coming to school with longer hair one day and everyone asking you a million questions about it.
Come 10th grade I cut my hair mega short. This was my first encounter that long hair (even if it wasn't mines) is associated with beauty. I took the weave out for a while and cut my hair very short. Long story short names where called, boyfriend problems all over what? The stuff that grows on top of my head. I couldn't believe how crazy things where. If my hair is short or long it won't make me any smarter, nicer,or more fun but many people can't see what's beyond looks.
Come 11th grade I'm a weave queen. (That's weave in my profile pic) It got to the point where people forgot what my real hair looked like. When I finally took my weave out my hair had grown a lot and that's when the natural idea came in.
Point one: My hair sheds a lot when I get perms.
Point two: I won't have to worry about accidentally forgetting about a perm appointed after the fact of me scratching in my head all day (done this before it HURTS!!!!).
Point three:Why hide what is known as Naturally B
Point four:I'm a rough sleeper. I was never able to get those nice curls in my hair without heavy holding spray or it was over with by the next morning.
Point five: it's versatile & cute

Newly Natural
WOW!!! I always wanted a blog but I never really felt I had anything important to say.So why blog now? Cause I never realized that the natural hair of a black female is so serious until a couple of months ago. I'm B and this is my Krazy Kinky Senior Year...
At the moment I am transitioning which means that instead of the BC " big chop" (cutting all the perm out of my hair) I'm letting my natural hair grow out as I slowly cut the ends off of my permed hair. I had originally planned to do the BC and wear sew in (weaves) until I felt my hair had grown to my liking but my mother objected. Unfortunately having short, nappy hair isn't associated with being classy, professional, beautiful, or any other nice word you can think of.
I'll be the first to go natural in my family so it's kind of a big deal especially when it's senior year and my hair is expected to look always fabulous for senior pics,homecoming,prom..etc. My family thus far doesn't understand why I wouldn't want a perm. Somewhere down the line society figured that if your hair isn't silky straight your not a beauty.Come along with me on my journey because from what I have seen it's going to be a kinky ride...
